The Effingham Park District Ron Diehl Recreation Center and
parks administrative office is located in Hendelmeyer Park at 1906 S. Fourth St. The center is named after longtime Park District Director Ron Diehl who retired in 2010.
Two gymnasiums and two meeting rooms are also housed in the recreation
center.
Center Facilities
In the winter, the upstairs gym is home to boys and girls basketball leagues, men's basketball leagues,
coed volleyball leagues and a women's volleyball league. Open gym time is available when no league is
in session. In the summer, a variety of recreation camps are held here.

Batting Cages & Throwing Mound
The downstairs gym now holds two batting cages and one throwing mound. Call the Ron Diehl Center at 342-4415 to reserve a time.
Rates
- One cage or pitching area for 1 or 2 kids is $10 for one-half hour/ $15 for one hour.
- One cage or pitching area for 3 or more kids is $15 for one-half hour/ $20 for one hour.

Entire gym (for teams or groups only) is $30 per hour / $45 for 1.5 hours.

Batting Cage Pass Card is also available for $150 for 20 punches. Each punch is good for one cage for one 30-minute session.
Photos
The Fine Arts Room is available for showers and parties. The room is 75' x 45' and will hold
approximately 80 people with tables and chairs. Call the office to make reservations.
The Fine Arts County of Effingham (FACE) performs shows three times a year. Effingham Art Guild
also holds their monthly meetings here. Yoga classes are held on Monday mornings.

The kitchen/meeting room (40' x 42') is home to the Golden Circle Nutrition program. Seniors 60 and
older enjoy meals and fellowship Monday through Friday. To reserve a meal, call 347-2851 a day in
advance.
Duplicate bridge plays on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
The room is also available for children's birthday parties. Call the office to make reservations.
