What is VCS?

VCS files use the iCalendar specification to encode details about a game or program in a format that can be imported or saved into many different calendar applications. (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCal, Google Calendar)

The Effingham Park District calendar, program, and schedule pages generate VCS files that allow users to easily add events to their personal calendars. The files can be used in the following way:

• Each game or program has its own vcs file — click the vcs/download icon to add the event to your personal calendar. Depending on what application you use for your calendar, you can either download the file then import it into your calendar, or choose your calendar application to open the file (instead of saving/downloading it), in which case the event should automatically be imported.
