The Effingham Park District is seeking a dependable and self-motivated individual to perform custodial, light maintenance, and groundskeeping duties. This position is responsible for maintaining clean and safe facilities, assisting with park upkeep, and supporting daily operations across District properties.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills
- General knowledge of custodial practices, grounds maintenance, or related experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage assigned tasks
responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily maintenance of park grounds, including mowing, trimming, leaf and debris removal

Maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, and public areas

Assist with minor building and equipment repairs

Operate small machinery, tools, and vehicles safely

Set up and tear down for special events and programs

Perform snow removal and seasonal maintenance tasks

Follow safety procedures and report hazards or maintenance needs
